Let \({\mathcal C}_ k\) denote the real or complex k-th Clifford algebra and consider a representation of \({\mathcal C}_ k\) on a real or complex Hilbert space H. Let \({\mathcal C}_ k'\) denote the commutant of \({\mathcal C}_ k\) in \({\mathcal L}(H)\) and consider the algebra \(A_ k:={\mathcal C}'_{k-1}\cap (S+{\mathcal C}_ k')\) for some symmetric ideal S in \({\mathcal L}(H)\). From the periodicity of \({\mathcal C}_ k\) it is seen that \(A_ k\cong A_{k+8}\) in the real case and \(A_ k\cong A_{k+2}\) in the complex case. The K- groups and KK-groups of these algebras are computed in terms of Grothendieck groups of \({\mathcal C}_ k\)-modules and homotopy classes of *- homomorphisms. The K-groups of \({\mathcal C}_ k+S\) are determined more explicitely.
