This paper gives a valuable survey of various results which have been obtained over the last decade on the topics mentioned in the title of the article. Contents include: spin manifolds and corresponding connections; the operator defining twistor-spinors and the universal formula; conformal change of metric; Killing spinors and parallel forms; the Hijazi inequality and its generality and universality; and twistor- spinors. The author gives a detailed presentation of his own approach to the subject as well as numerous references to the contributions of other authors.
