In [Seminar on differential geometry. Princeton, New Jersey: Princeton University Press; University of Tokyo Press (1982; Zbl 0471.00020)] \textit{S.-T. Yau} proposed the problem of how to classify 3-manifolds admitting complete Riemannian metrics of positive scalar curvature up to diffeomorphism. Much progress has been developed to crack the problem either fully or partially. The authors in this article have solved that problem by showing that bounded curvature and uniformly positive scalar curvature on complete open \(3\)-manifolds are enough to derive a lower bound on the injectivity radius.
