The authors show that there exists a Cantor set \(X\) in \(\mathbb{C}^3\) whose polynomial hull is strictly larger than \(X\) but contains no analytic discs. The authors construct an example by generalizing a result of \textit{J. Wermer} [Ark. Mat. 20, 129--135 (1982; Zbl 0491.32013)]. The construction given here does not yield density of invertible elements and it can be used to obtain rationally convex examples.
