In this article, the authors prove Theorem 1.1, which answers a question asked by \textit{D. Romik} [Acta Arith. 180, No. 2, 111--159 (2017; Zbl 1388.11073)], for lower order terms in the in the asymptotic expansion of the sequence \(r(n)\) in section \(7.5\). In order to establish proof of the Theorem 1.1, the authors prove an asymptotic expansion of the function \(G(q)\) near \(q=1\) with an explicit formula for the occurring error term, they also give a uniform upper bound for this error, which is used to show that it is negligible. They discuss the error analysis for the error tails of the major arc integral when using the saddle point method, further they provide a power series expansion for the saddle points and show that they depend on the parameter \(n\), but they stay bounded as \(n\) increases; using again this saddle point function (in Section \(6\)) the authors investigate the asymptotic expansion of \(G(q)\) near to \(q=1\). Lastly, they prove Theorem 1.1, using Wright's circle method and the saddle point method. At the end in Section \(8\), some open problems and related questions are discussed. All the results presented in this article are interesting and useful for further research in this area.
