    Let \(\mathcal{A}\) be a family of subsets of \(\mathbb{R}\). A function \(f:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) is \textit{\(\mathcal{A}\)-continuous} at a point \(x\in\mathbb{R}\) if for each neighbourhood \(V\) of \(f(x)\) there exists a set \(A\in\mathcal{A}\) with \(x\in A\subset f^{-1}(V)\). \(f\) is \(\mathcal{A}\)-continuous if it is \(\mathcal{A}\)-continuous at each point \(x\in\mathbb{R}\). A family \(\mathcal{A}\subset\mathcal{P}(\mathbb{R})\) has the \textit{\((\ast)\)-property} if: \begin{itemize} \item[(1)] each open set belongs to \(\mathcal{A}\), and each \(A\in\mathcal{A}\) has the Baire property; \item[(2)] if \(A\in\mathcal{A}\) then it is of second category at each \(x\in A\). \end{itemize} In the paper under review, the authors consider families of \(\mathcal{A}\)-continuous functions. It is proved that if the family \(\mathcal{A}\) has the \((\ast)\)-property then: \begin{itemize} \item[(i)] each \(\mathcal{A}\)-continuous function is quasi-continuous in the sense of Kempisty; \item[(ii)] the family of all \(\mathcal{A}\)-continuous Baire-one functions is strongly porous in the spaces \(\mathcal{Q}\) and \(\mathcal{B}_1\), both equipped with the metric of uniform convergence. Here \(\mathcal{Q}\) denotes the space of all quasi-continuous functions. \item[(iii)] the family of all \(\mathcal{A}\)-continuous Darboux functions is strongly porous in the space of all quasi-continuous functions and in the space of all Darboux cliquish functions with the metric of uniform convergence. \end{itemize}
