On the space \(H(\mathbb{D})\) of analytic functions on the open unit disc of the complex plane, the authors define the weighted differentiation composition operator by \(D^n_{\psi,\varphi}(f):=\psi \cdot f^{(n)} \circ \varphi\) for given \(n\in \mathbb{N} \cup \{0\}\), an analytic self-map \(\varphi\) of \(\mathbb{D}\), and \(\psi\in H(\mathbb{D})\). The subject of the paper under review is the boundedness, the compactness, and the essential norm of finite sums \(\sum_{n=0}^m D^n_{\psi_n,\varphi_n}\) of weighted differentiation composition operators acting on a class of Banach spaces \(X\) of analytic functions on \(\mathbb{D}\) that range on the \(k\)-th weighted-type Banach space \(\mathcal{W}_{\mu}^{(k)}\), \(k\in \mathbb{N} \cup \{0\}\), for a given weight \(\mu\) on the disc. Recall that \(\mathcal{W}_{\mu}^{(k)}\) consists of all \(f\in H(\mathbb{D})\) such that \(\|f\|_{\mu,k}:=\sup_{z\in \mathbb{D}} \mu(z)|f^{(k)}(z)| <\infty\), and is a Banach space when endowed with the norm \(\sum_{j=0}^{k-1}|f^{(j)}(0)+ \|f\|_{\mu,k}\). Some four (six at some points) quite natural conditions are required for the spaces \(X\). All the spaces above have been treated earlier in the mathematical literature and natural well-known examples exist. Also, the above mentioned properties of the operator obtained by composing the multiplication operator \(M_\psi\), the composition operator \(C_\varphi\), and the differentiation operator \(D^n\) have been studied, as is referenced in the paper. The contribution here is to deal with them in a unified way by considering the finite sums \(T:=\sum_{n=0}^m D^n_{\psi_n,\varphi_n}\). Characterizations of boundedness and compactness are provided, and norm as well as essential norm operator estimates are given. Such look very much like the one term operator cases known. The operator \(T\) is said to be order bounded if there is a \textit{continuous} function \(h\) in \(\mathbb{D}\) such that \(\|h\|_{\mu,0}<\infty\) and \(|(Tf)^{(k)}|\leq h\) for all \(f\in B_X\). It turns out that \(T\) is order bounded if and only if \(T\) is bounded.
