On the Brauer complex of a finite group of Lie type (Q1188282): Difference between revisions

The ``Brauer complex'' of a finite group of Lie type \(G\) is constructed using the alcove geometry associated with \(G\). This construction is motivated by the work of \textit{J. E. Humphreys} [J. Algebra 72, 8-16 (1981; Zbl 0474.20021) and 104, 80-88 (1986; Zbl 0618.20027)] who has given such a construction for low rank groups. The author explains the connection with the decomposition numbers by determining those numbers for \(\text{SL}(3,5)\) in characteristic 5.
