Aldaz-Kounchev-Render operators on simplices (Q6146390): Difference between revisions

Approximations, and convergence questions related to them, are studied in this paper with respect to operators on simplices. The simplices are multi-dimensional. In order to obtain good accuracy of the approximations, polynomial reproduction properties of the operators are required. The operators are closely related to the classical Bernstein operators of univariate approximation theory using polynomials. Since approximations in the multivariate setting are studied, the question arises with respect to which type of coordinates they will be formulated. In this paper, both barycentric and cartesian coordinates will be employed.
