This paper deals with a system of equations governing the motion of 2D periodic gravity capillary waves on a liquid of certain depth. The well posedness of the potential flow with dissipation is studied; indeed, for certain initial data, it is argued that unique solutions exist globally in time and decay exponentially fast to zero.
