It is known that every nonexpansive self-mapping of a bounded, closed and convex set in a Banach space has approximate fixed points. Let \(\mathcal A\) be the class of all nonexpansive self-mappings defined on a (not necessarily bounded) closed and convex set in a complete hyperbolic space, endowed with the natural metric of uniform convergence on bounded subsets. Using the Banach fixed point theorem, the authors show that there exists an open and everywhere dense subset \(\mathcal B\) of \(\mathcal A\) such that each map in \(\mathcal B\) has approximate fixed points.
