A relator space is a pair \((X,\mathcal R)\), where \(X\) is a non-empty set and \(\mathcal R\) a non-empty family of relations on \(X\). The link to topological structures leads naturally to an adaptation and a generalisation of many topological properties to relator spaces. Connections between covering properties and other properties, especially Menger and Hurewicz properties, are discussed. Selection principles and topological games are used in the discussion.
