For a set \(S= \{x_1,\dots,x_n\}\) of distinct positive integers, let \(f(x_i, x_j)\) denote the value of an arithmetic function \(f\) evaluated at the greatest common divisor \((x_i, x_j)\). The author evaluates the determinant of the \(n\times n\) matrix with \(f(x_i, x_j)\) as \(ij\) entry when each \((x_i, x_j)\in S\), and also finds conditions that guarantee nonvanishing of this determinant.
