Consider the linear system \(v' = A(t)v\) that may exhibit a polynomial asymptotic behaviour, where \(A(t)\) is an \(n\times n\) matrix of continuous functions. It is shown that if the solution with \(v(0) = v_0\) satisfies \(\lambda = \sup_{v_0\in R^n}\limsup_{t\to +\infty}\frac{\log\|v(t)\|}{\log t} <0\), then for each \(\varepsilon >0\), there exist constants \(a\geq 0\), \(D>0\) and \(\rho >0\) such that \(\|v(t)\| \leq D(t/s)^{\lambda+\varepsilon}s^a\|v_0\|\) for \(t\geq s \geq \rho\). In addition, the behaviour of polynomial trichotomy of some class of equations is investigated and persistence is also established under small perturbations.
