The authors study the Rademacher type and cotype of Nakano sequence spaces. They find conditions on the generating Banach spaces \(X_n\) and the related sequence \(\{p_n\}\) of numbers that give rise to the Nakano space \(\ell(\{p_n\}, \{X_n\})\), to enable the Nakano space to have a certain type or a certain related cotype. The authors give some general theorems that well relate to some recent work of \textit{E. Katirtzoglou} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 226, No. 2, 431-455 (1998; Zbl 0915.46005)].
