Radicals of some semigroup algebras (Q372342): Difference between revisions

The authors seek to determine the Jacobson radical of certain Banach algebras associated with semigroups, mostly for \(\ell^1\)-algebras; in particular, they are interested in the question when such an algebra is semisimple. In particular, they are interested in the algebra \(\ell^1(\beta S \setminus S)\), where \(S\) is a cancellative, countable abelian semigroup, and \(\beta S\) is its Stone-Čech semigroup compactification.
