The object of the present paper is to construct a paracontact structure on the unit tangent sphere bundle \(T_1M\), having a \(g\)-natural metric of suitable signature as associated metric. The paracontact metric structures depend on three parameters \(a, b, c\) satisfying a certain condition. It is proved that the class of \(g\)-natural paracontact metric structures is invariant under \(D\)-homothetic deformations. Next, some equivalent conditions are proved for any \(g\)-natural paracontact metric structures on \(T_1M\). Also the authors study paracontact \((k,\mu )\)-spaces and obtain some interesting results. From a non-Sasakian \(g\)-natural contact metric structure on \(T_1M\) they construct \(g\)-natural paracontact metric \((k,\mu)\)-spaces. Finally, the authors prove that if \((M, <,>)\) is a two-point homogeneous space, then any \(g\)-natural paracontact metric structure on \(T_1M\) is (locally) homogeneous paracontact.
