The authors study density conditions for the sampling expansion in shift invation spaces. They show that when the maximal gap between successive sampling points is smaller than a certain number, then any function in a shift invariant space is uniquely determined by its sampled values and can be reconstructed stably. As an application, for the space generated by Meyer's wavelet, they get the best constant for the maximal sampling interval.
