Let \(A=\mathbb F_p[x^{\pm1}]\) be the graded algebra of Laurent polynomials with degree \(-1\) indeterminate \(x\), \(|x|=-1\), over the field with \(p\) elements, \(p\) a prime number, endowed with the trivial differential \(d=0\). Let \(B\) be the graded algebra over the integers \(\mathbb Z\) generated by \(e\) and \(x^{\pm1}\) in degree \(|e|=|x|=-1\) with the following additional relations, \(e^2=0\), \(ex+xe=x^2\), endowed with the degree 1 differential \(d\) defined by \(d(e)=p\), \(d(x)=0\) (notice that \(H^{\ast}(B)=A\)). In this paper the authors show that \(A\) and \(B\) have the same derivator K-theory but non-isomorphic Waldhausen K-theory. The authors also prove that Maltsiniotis's comparison and localization conjectures for derivator K-theory cannot be simultaneously true.
