Quantum stabilizer codes play a similar role in quantum communication that block codes play in classical electronic communication. Recent results show how to construct quantum codes from classical \([n,k,d]\) codes over the field of order \(q\). The authors use these results and designs associated with finite affine and projective geometries to construct several infinite families of \(q\)-ary quantum stabilizer codes and give explicit parameters for these codes.
