The paper studies the Schrödinger operator on the half-line with the potential given as a linear combination of a Coulomb potential (\(1/r\)) and a centrifugal term (\(1/r^2\)). The considered operator is not necessarily self-adjoint, the mentioned linear combination has complex coefficients. The boundary conditions at 0 are prescribed. The authors introduce three holomorphic families of closed operators and investigate their relation to the Whittaker equation. They study e.g. the minimal and maximal operators, point spectrum, and Green's functions for those operators. In the appendix, the properties of the Whittaker and Bessel equation are summarized. The paper is a continuation of the series of papers [\textit{L. Bruneau} et al., Ann. Henri Poincaré 12, No. 3, 547--590 (2011; Zbl 1226.47049); \textit{J. Dereziński} and \textit{S. Richard}, Ann. Henri Poincaré 18, No. 3, 869--928 (2017; Zbl 1370.81070); ibid. 19, No. 9, 2869--2917 (2018; Zbl 1428.81077)].
