The paper studies the boundedness/unboundedness of Bergman type projections on weighted Bergman spaces of the unit disk. The weights are ``rapidly decreasing'' near the boundary and the resulting spaces are ``large Bergman spaces''. The main result is that the Bergman type projections are bounded on \(L^p\) for \(p\not=2\) only in exceptional cases; they are unbounded in general.
