This paper analyzes the interplay between the most classical laws of population dynamics, Malthus versus Verhulst, in a class of sub-linear cooperative parabolic systems, where much like for one single equation, the metasolutions are imperative for describing the dynamics of the problem in the regimes where the model does not admit a stable non-negative equilibrium. The approach is very rigorous and the result is interesting in its own right.
