Let \(H\) be a Krull monoid with finite class group \(G\) and assume that each class contains a prime divisor (the classical example is the ring of integers of a finite extension of the rationals). For \(a\in H\) let \(L(a)\) be the set of lengths of factorizations of \(a\) into irreducibles. The set \(\{L(a): a\in H\}\) depends only on the class-group \(G\), so it may be denoted by \(\mathcal L(G)\). The author shows that if for some \(n\geq 3\) one has \(\mathcal L(G)=\mathcal L(C_N^2)\), then \(G\cong C_N^2\).
