Let \(\Omega_m\) be a multiply-connected plane domain with \(C^2\)-smooth boundary \(\partial \Omega_m=\cup_{j=0}^m\Gamma_j\). The authors investigate the following boundary value problems. To find a function \(w=u+iv\) from the Hölder space \(C^\beta(\overline{\Omega}_m)\) and a parameter \(\omega\in \mathbb{R}^{m-1}\) such that: (i) \(w\) satisfies the Vekua equation \(\partial w/\partial \overline{z}-A w-B\overline{w}=0\) in \(\Omega_m\); (ii) \(F_j(\omega;z,u,v)|_{\Gamma_j}=0\), \(z\in \Gamma_j\); and (iii) \(\int_{\Gamma_j}d\arg w = 0\), \(0\leq j \leq m\). Here \(F_j\) are given real-valued functions. The main result (Theorem 3.1) states that under some assumptions, called by the authors the Basic Assumptions, the problem has at least two different solutions. First the well-known similarity principle for the Vekua equation is generalized to the multiply-connected case. It allows to reduce the problem to the case of holomorphic functions. Then the Newton-Kantorovich method and a new existence theorem for holomorhic solutions, based on topological arguments, implies Theorem 3.1.
