Five implicit methods were compared in solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations to a steady state on triangular meshes. The authors report that most of the methods work well for inviscid flows. For viscous flows with high Reynolds number, convergence is observed to be extremely slow, except for one method. Application of solutions is demonstrated for computation of the flow around an airfoil profile. This is a very useful paper for aerodynamic applications.
