This is one of a long series of papers attempting to classify those finite groups which can act line-transitively on a finite linear space. The authors prove that if the group \(G\) is isomorphic to a Ree group the linear space is the Ree unitary space. They show first that the group is primitive in the action on points. They then consider the primitive action separately. The proof uses very detailed knowledge of the structure of the subgroups of the Ree groups and some subtle computations.
