The paper is number four in a series of papers on the topic of higher symmetry, division algebras and supersymmetry (for Part I--III, see [\textit{J. C. Baez} and the author, Proc. Symp. Pure Math. 81, 65--80 (2010; Zbl 1210.81117); Adv. Theor. Math. Phys. 15, No. 5, 1373--1410 (2011; Zbl 1260.81222); the author, ibid. 16, No. 5, 1485--1589 (2012; Zbl 1306.81298)], respectively). As described in the summary, this particular entry focuses on the construction of a ``Lie 3-supergroup'' which extends the Poincare supergroup in spacetime dimensions where the classical Green-Schwarz super-2-brane makes sense: 4, 5, 7 and 11. This is an important addition to the continued exploration of higher symmetries in both physics and mathematics, and a good read for anyone interested in such topics.
