Let \(K\) be an algebraic number field of finite degree, let \(M/K\) be its finite extension and let \(O\) be an order in \(M\) possessing a relative integral power basis over \(\mathbb Z_K\). The authors provide an algorithm to decide whether \(O\) has a relative integral power basis over \(\mathbb Z\), and to determine such a basis if it exists. They apply this algorithm for certain families of octic fields.
