The authors study the 3D steady irrotationl isentropic supersonic flow against a general conic projectile, focusing on approximate solutions for the shock solutions and existence conditions for these shocks. The approximate solutions are built via expanding the velocity potential in the power of the axial variable in cylindrical coordinates.
