The idea of this work is very interesting and suggestive. The authors analyze the impact on the derivative of the initial condition for the case of fractional differential equations with bounded variable delay and reveal the connection between RL fractional derivative and Caputo fractional derivative, namely, both are derivated from the integer order derivatives only after modifying the value of the function at the left of the selected starting point, which is instructive and may help other researchers work. In order to illustrate the effects of the initial function not just on the solution of the FDDE, but also on the nature of the fractional derivative, the authors derive the exact solution for a family of linear FDDEs with the Caputo derivative.
