Totalization of simplicial homotopy types (Q2255555): Difference between revisions

Let \(\mathcal{M}\) be a stable model category. The authors calculate the obstructions for the functoriality and the uniqueness of the totalization (i.e. the geometric realization) functor from the category of simplicial objects of \(\mathcal{M}\) to \(\mathcal{M}\). The authors then use a result from the cyclic homology of group algebras to show that these obstructions can be non-trivial.
