Coarse embedding into uniformly convex Banach spaces (Q2257069): Difference between revisions

The main result of the paper is the following. Let \(G\) be a finitely generated group with a finite symmetric generating set \(S\) and \(d_S\) be the corresponding metric. Assume that \(G\) is strongly hyperbolic relative to a subgroup \(H\) and that \(H\) admits a coarse embedding into a uniformly convex Banach space \(E\). Let \(B(n)\) be the ball of radius \(n\) of \(G\) with respect to the generating set \(S\cup\left(H\backslash\{e\}\right)\). Then \(B(n)\) endowed with \(d_S\) admits a coarse embedding into the countable \(\ell_p\)-sum of \(E\) (the sum is uniformly convex if \(1<p<\infty\)).
