A linear parabolic problem, posed in a periodically perforated domain, is studied here from the periodic homogenization point of view. Two particular features stand out: (1) the boundary condition on the ``oscillating'' boundaries is the so-called accumulation boundary condition -- a rather non-standard way of ``balancing heat'' which gives rise to memory (in time) effects and (2) the use of a periodic unfolding operator in time. The paper is written very clearly so that it becomes a pleasure to read.
