The author studies conditions under which the cosine and sine Fourier transforms possess certain smoothness. These are generalizations of some results on trigonometric series. However, there are much more results for series, in fact the most interesting in [\textit{S.~Tikhonov}, Acta Math. Hung. 114, 61--78 (2007; Zbl 1121.42006)], that are waiting for generalizations.
