The authors propose a two-grid algorithm for discontinuous Galerkin approximations to nonlinear Sobolev equations. \(H^1\)-norm error estimates of the method for the nonlinear parabolic problem are derived. It is shown that the given Galerkin algorithm will achieve asymptotically optimal approximation, if the mesh sizes satisfy a certain requirement. Numerical experiments are presented to illustrate the procedure as well as to show the efficiency of the algorhtm.
