In this paper, the authors consider the evolution problem \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}=\operatorname {div}\left(\frac{\nabla u} {\sqrt{1+|\nabla u|^2}}\right) \] in \((0,\infty)\times\Omega\), where the function \(u\) satisfies the conditions \[ \frac{\nabla u} {\sqrt{1+|\nabla u|^2}}\cdot\nu^{\Omega}=0 \] in \((0,\infty)\times\partial\Omega\) and \(u(0,\cdot)=u_{0}(\cdot)\) in \(\Omega\). Here, \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^N\) is a bounded open set with smooth boundary, \(\nu^{\Omega}\) is the exterior unit normal to \(\partial\Omega\) and ``\(\cdot\)'' is the standard scalar product in \(\mathbb{R}^N\). The main result is the following theorem: { Theorem.} Let \(u_0\in L^2(\Omega)\) and let \(u\) be the unique solution of the above-mentioned evolution problem. Suppose that one of the following cases hold: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize} \item[a)] \(N=1\), \item [b)] \(N>1\) and the generalized graph of \(u_0\), \[ \text{graph}(u_0): =\overline{\partial\{(x,y):x\in\Omega, y<u_0(x)\}\cap(\Omega\times\mathbb{R})}, \] is a compact hypersurface of class \(C^{1,1}\), meeting orthogonally \((\partial\Omega)\times \mathbb{R}\). \end{itemize}} Then, there exists \(T>0\) such that \[ u\in C^{\omega}((T,+\infty)\times\Omega). \] Hence, \(u(t)\) is analytic in \(\Omega\) for any \(t\in (T,\infty)\). Moreover, \(u(t)\) converges to the mean value \[ \bar{u}_0:=\frac{1}{|\Omega|}\int_{\Omega}u_0dx \] of \(u_0\) in \(C^{\infty}(\Omega)\) as \(t\to +\infty\). | |||
