The paper is focused on the inclusion \(\beta(u)\ni h\), where \(\beta:{\mathcal V}\to {\mathcal P}({\mathcal V}')\), \(h\in {\mathcal V}'\), \({\mathcal V}\) is a reflexive Banach space, and \(\beta\) is a (strict) generalized pseudo-monotone operator in the sense of Browder-Hess. The author studies the compactness of the operators and the convergence of the solutions for the above problem in a weak topology, when the operators \(\{\beta_n\}\) \(\tau\)-converge and the data \(h_n\) converge in \({\mathcal V}'\). The weak structural stability of this inclusion with respect to variations of \(\beta\) and \(h\), is also investigated. The obtained results are then applied to the structural stability of a family of doubly-nonlinear Cauchy problems of the form \[ \begin{cases} D_t\partial \varphi (u)+\alpha (u)\ni h\quad \text{in }{\mathcal V}'=L^p(0,T;V)',\\ \partial \varphi (u)|_{t=0}\ni w^0,\end{cases} \] where \(\varphi\) is a convex and lower semicontinuous mapping, \(1<p<\infty\) and \(V\) is a reflexive Banach space, and \(\alpha:{\mathcal V}\to {\mathcal P}(\mathcal {V}')\) is maximal monotone in the sense of \textit{G. J. Minty} [Duke Math. J. 29, 341--346 (1962; Zbl 0111.31202)] and \textit{F. E. Browder} [Nonlinear operators and nonlinear equations of evolution in Banach spaces. Proceedings of Symposia in Pure Mathematics. Vol. XVIII, Part 2. Providence, R.I.: American Mathematical Society (AMS). (1976; Zbl 0327.47022)], or \(\alpha\) is single-valued and pseudo-monotone in the sense of Brezis.
