The notion of fractal dimension is extended from the realm of metric spaces to the so-called fractal structures. These objects were considered by the author and his colleagues in a series of papers, cf. \textit{M. A. Sánchez-Granero} [in: Asymmetric topology and its applications. Caserta: Dipartimento di Matematica, Seconda Università di Napoli. 211--245 (2011; Zbl 1315.54003)]. Since the properties of a fractal dimension are in the spotlight, it may be interesting for the reader to see what happens if an axiomatic description of fractal dimension is pushed to the limits. This issue has been gently explained in [\textit{I. Herburt} and \textit{R. Pol}, Adv. Geom. 13, No. 2, 245--254 (2013; Zbl 1268.28016)].
