The paper describes the construction of non-separable two-dimensional square integrable wavelets using dilation matrices whose determinant is \(\pm 2\). The wavelet basis yields a tight frame and both the scaling function and the wavelets are compactly supported. The construction of the filter function is based on solving Lawton's system of equations. Starting from the filter function subsequently the scaling function and then the wavelets can be constructed. The scaling function and the wavelets are not necessarily orthogonal and thus a frame multiresolution analysis is obtained. Finally some examples illustrate the construction. | |||
