Summary: We give a description of \textit{C. Droms} [Graph groups. Syracuse, NY: Syracuse University (PhD Thesis) (1983)], \textit{G. Duchamp} and \textit{D. Krob}'s [Semigroup Forum 45, No. 3, 385--394 (1992; Zbl 0814.20025); J. Algebra 156, No. 2, 318--361 (1993; Zbl 0854.20065)] extension of Magnus' approach to the lower central series of the free group to right-angled Artin groups. We also describe how \textit{P. Lalonde}'s [Theor. Comput. Sci. 117, No. 1--2, 217--226 (1993; Zbl 0789.68116); Discrete Math. 145, No. 1--3, 171--189 (1995; Zbl 0831.68079)] extension of Lyndon words to the partially commutative setting gives a simple algorithm to find a basis for consecutive quotients of the lower central series of a RAAG. | |||
