The paper considers a system of four linear delay-differential equations, which are coupled in a ring configuration \[ x_i'=-K x_i(t)+a x_i(t-r)+b_{i-1} x_{i-1}(t-\tau_{i-1})),\quad i=1,\dots,4, \] and the index is considered modulo 4. The time delays are \(r\) for the self-feedback and \(\tau_{i}\) for the coupling. Because of the ring configuration, the sum of the coupling delays \(\tau = \tau_{1}+\tau_2+\tau_3+ \tau_4\) matters for the dynamics. The main result of the paper is the linear stability analysis and the bifurcation diagram with respect to the following parameters: \(\tau\), product of the coupling strengths \(b_1 b_2 b_3 b_4\), and \(a\). | |||
