This paper is a follow up paper of the analytical and topological theory of dicritical divisors that was previously developed by E. Artal-Bartolo, D. Eisenbud and W. Newman, L. Fourier, Le and Weber, J. Mattei and R. Moussu. One major motivation is a certain line of attack on the Jacobian conjecture. In this paper the authors indicate how one might use that theory in the higher dimensional Jacobian Conjecture. The paper brings other algebraic aspects of the theory, such as certain extensions of valuations (Gauss extensions) and point how Rees rings and certain homomorphic images of them lie behinde the scene.
