The authors consider a class of connected, simply connected solvable Lie groups denoted class \(\mathcal{C}\). This class satisfies the following properties. Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be a Lie algebra of class \(\mathcal{C}.\) Then there exist two ideals \(\mathfrak{a}\) and \(\mathfrak{n}\) in \(\mathfrak{g}\) such that \(\mathfrak{a}\subset\mathfrak{n}\subset\mathfrak{g}\), \(\mathfrak{n}\) is nilpotent and \(\mathfrak{a}\) is abelian. There exists a dense open subset in the dual space of the Lie algebra such that this subset is invariant under the coadjoint action and has dimension \(2\left( \dim\mathfrak{n}-\dim\mathfrak{a}\right)\). Finally, for any linear functional \(\ell\) in the subset above, \(\mathfrak{g=g} \left( \ell\right) +\mathfrak{n}\), where \(\mathfrak{g}\left( \ell\right) \) is the Lie algebra of the stabilizer of \(G(\ell)\) of \(\ell.\) The authors prove that any solvable Lie group in the so-called class \(\mathcal{C}\) admits a weak quadratic overgroup in the sense that there exists an overgroup denoted \(G^{+}\) and a quadratic map sending each generic orbit in \(\mathfrak{g}^{\ast}\) to a \(G^{+}\)-orbit in \((\mathfrak{g}^{+})^{\ast}\) such that the set of coadjoint orbits of the image of this generic subset of \(\mathfrak{g}^{\ast}\) is convex hull separable. The authors also present several examples of solvable Lie groups not of class \(\mathcal{C}\) having weak quadratic overgroups.
