Loosely speaking, the authors examine the pinning of a directed polymer via a one-dimensional linear interface carrying random charges, which is basically supported by the annealed and the quenched large deviation principle (LDP). The phases are separated by a citical curve, and they derive a variational formula which characterizes the quenched, respectively, annealed critical curve. A criterion for the disorder relevance is stated. The measurement of the difference between two critical curves is defined in term of relative entropies. Some theoretical results are stated around these developments, such as, for instance, upper bounds and lower bounds of various parameters (temperature) of interest.
