The authors study the asymptotic behavior of solutions of integro-differential equations in a Hilbert space on the basis of spectral analysis of their symbols. They obtain representations of strong solutions of these equations in the form of series in exponentials corresponding to the points of the spectrum of the operator functions that are symbols of such equations. Proofs of the theorems discussed are given. Results on well posed solvability of Cauchy problems for the equations in weighted Sobolev spaces on the positive half line are given.
