The author reviews some properties of both the Riemann boundary-value and the Riemann monodromy problem. First, he recalls the notion of the partial indices coming from the factorization of a Hölder function defined on a smooth closed loop in \({\mathbb C}P^1\) and describes the connection between the Riemann boundary-value and monodromy problems. Next, he describes the construction of the holomorphic vector bundles by the data given in the boundary-value and monodromy problems and claims the existence of a one-to-one correspondence between the strata of the Hölder function with the partial indices \(K\) and the holomorphic vector bundles of the splitting type \(K\). Then he presents some conditions of solvability of both problems and concludes his presentation by a discussion of some properties of the \(\bar\partial\)-problem.
