Let \(H\) be a subgroup of a finite group \(G\). \(H\) is said to be \(s\)-permutable (or \(s\)-quasinormal) in \(G\) if it permutes with every Sylow subgroup of \(G\). Moreover, \(H\) is said to be \(s\)-permutably embedded in \(G\) if a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of \(H\) is also a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of some \(s\)-permutable subgroup of \(G\), for every prime dividing the order of \(H\). Finally, \(H\) is said to be weakly \(s\)-permutably embedded in \(G\) if there exists a subnormal subgroup \(T\) of \(G\) such that \(G=HT\) and \(H\cap T\leq H_{se}\), where \(H_{se}\) is an \(s\)-permutably embedded subgroup of \(G\) contained in \(H\). In this paper, the authors go further with the study of the influence of the last embedding property on the structure of finite groups, initiated by the second and third author, and \textit{Y. Wang} [in part I, Commun. Algebra, 37, No. 3, 1086-1097 (2009; Zbl 1177.20036)]. More concretely, some criteria for a finite group \(G\) to be \(p\)-nilpotent are obtained under the assumption that certain subgroups of a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of \(G\) are weakly \(s\)-permutably embedded in \(G\) (here \(p\) is the smallest prime dividing the order of \(G\)). As an application, some earlier results are generalized.
