This is a sequel to [\textit{M. Knebusch} and \textit{D. Zhang}, Manis valuations and Prüfer extensions. I: A new chapter in commutative algebra. Lecture Notes in Mathematics 1791. Berlin: Springer (2002; Zbl 1033.13001)]. The first volume treats individual Prüfer-Manis (PM) valuations and Prüfer extensions in general. This sequel focuses on families of PM valuations. Titles of individual chapters are as follows: 1. Overrings and PM-Spectra, 2. Approximation Theorems, 3. Kronecker Extensions and Star Operations. An appendix contains errata for volume I. as well as a list of 35 bibliographic units, and subject and author index. Part of the attention is on ``Kronecker extensions'' where PM valuations are in the domain of arbitrary commutative ring extensions, in a way that goes back to the work of Leopold Kronecker. Another emphasis is a far-reaching extension of the classical weak approximation theorem in arithmetic through a general and deep approximation theorem for PM valuations, having origins in the work of Joachim Gräter in the 1980s.
