Derived functors of non-additive functors were introduced by Dold and Puppe. A more recent development of representations of Schur algebras is the introduction of strict polynomial functors by Friedlander and Suslin. The author proves that Ringel duality in the category of strict polynomial functors can be interpreted as derived functors of non-additive functors. Applications of this fact are given.
